Whiplash a la Krypton: The new "Man of Steel" is more video game than movie
2 1/2 hours of explosions got old, especially with little more than a few seconds of story scattered like forgotten toast crumbs singed, themselves, by their explosion proximity.
The general storyline was good, and many familiar actors gave a decent portrayal of events, but it was an action film with less dialogue than you'd find in a comic book. (It really was like the amount of action versus dialogue in a video game.) And it seemed like it should have been over before the 2 hour mark and just kept going, mostly repeating similar fight and mass destruction scenes ad nauseum.
Folks who go to movies almost entirely for the special effects would love this film's frantic destructive pace and in-your-face style. I, however, became numb to it all and was checking my watch long before the end.
