Dr. Karin Anderson, professor extraordinaire of non-fiction creative writing and literature at UVU, will be reading some of her work tonight in UVU's Sorensen Student Center room 213b at 7 PM. An open mic night follows for the rest of us to, after having heard her great use of detail and metaphor, feel greatly humbled and zit-faced teenager awkward. I intend to be reading something I've written about my late father--okay, he was "late" and had his own form of relative time before he was gone, which seems fitting for a theoretical physicist, but the anniversary of when he passed through the veil is very near and weighs heavily on my mind.
